Narrow streets of cobblestone: Évora (un)Disturbed

Évora is my hometown. No matter where I am in the world, no matter where I am living, the roots of my soul are in Évora. I am here this time for only 3 days. The first thing I did this morning - as I always do -  was a full walk around the historic centre. That resets me for the rest of my stay. As I was walking, "The Sound of Silence" was banging in my head. Not the original version by Simon and Garfunkel (sorry folks, not anymore), but the awesome version by the Disturbed. Évora is full of "...narrow streets of cobblestone..." but, unlike in the song, it's luminous and noisy although there is an underlying feeling of peace and purpose. Almost without noticing I started snapshotting the streets.

This is Évora, on the first day of Summer 2016. The only two elements present in all photos are the vibrant, cloudless blue skies of Alentejo, and the cobbles. All the rest is just a regular day.

I walked for 3 hours... and David Draiman's powerful voice kept me company. I came back home for lunch all sweaty and thirsty, but with a renewed soul. I also created a full imaginary scenario in my head that placed the Disturbed gigging from the top of the Roman Temple and the whole town was singing in unison!
